Tool kits for Metric Motorcycles:

This "kit" has been carried on
2 Different Suzuki DL650 Wee Stroms,
Honda's CB 500X & GROM as well as my
2006 S83/VS1400 Intruder
& Moto Guzzi V85 TT
.
Many of you, I am assuming, will have an OEM tool kit.
If you purchased a used motorcycle, you might need to "build a tool kit"
& would like some guidance on what constitutes a "decent" kit.
It's not the "Perfect" kit, but it's a good place to start &
easily adjusted to suit Your motorcycle

This kits fits in a small container, & is what I typically carry.
Some of my items are specific to the different motorcycles that I have.
It's not a "perfect" kit, but it will work for a wide variety of Metric motorcycles,
& is a good place to start building YOUR tool kit.

Not mentioned as part of the tool kit is the "Phillips" screwdriver.
In case many of you do not know, those "star" headed screws on many
Japanese motorcycles are NOT Phillips screws.
They are a Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) which look
very similar to the Phillips screw. If you decide to purchase specific
screwdrivers, look for JIS Screwdrivers (Amazon carries them)

My tool kit which all fits in that small Rubbermaid bottle. Have had it since 2005,

Includes the OEM Honda, 19 & 24 mm wrenches, 8, 9, 10 & 12 mm combo wrenches,

1/4 drive handle with tq handle for leverage, 1/4 drive ratchet &

4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 mm sockets, 1/4 - 3/8 adapter for 14 mm 3/8 drive socket,

long 1/4 drive extension, air pressure gauge, small vice grips, cpl allen keys

& fuse puller with circuit tester for checking fuses.

Typically rolls around in my bags. There is enough room inside to toss in a couple
of Zip Ties (multiple uses) & you can "wrap" duct tape or electrical tape
around the outside, if you wish
